Barwani collector Shivraj Singh to be feted with CM excellence award in PM Housing Scheme

BHOPAL / District collector of Barwani Shivraj Singh will be conferred with the Chief Minister excellence award on Monday in Bhopal for his district’s outstanding performance in Madhya Pradesh in Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojna (PMAY) Urban for the session 2021-22.

Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan will felicitate Barwani collector Singh in a state-level mega award ceremony being organised in the state capital on November 7. CM Chouhan will also fete those officials and employees who have performed excellently in the state in implementing the various schemes of state and central government. The CM will also confer officials who have embodied public welfare through innovations. Programmes will also be held in all 52 districts along with the state-level function.

“It is a result of teamwork, credit for this achievement goes to those officials and employees who dedicatedly worked to provide benefits of the PMAY to the people who had been living in mud houses and huts. Now, they will live in their own pucca homes”, the collector of Barwani, Singh told The Sun Today.

“Working on the concept of ‘where there is a will, there is a way’, we found out the solutions for the complicated cases in sanctioning the houses for eligible people keeping in mind the time limit of the scheme”, he said. Focusing on the flagship schemes of the government, he continuously monitored the PMAY because it was a time limit-based, he added.

The MP Urban Administration and Development (UAD) department released the order in this regard on Wednesday stating the MP UAD department has been selected for CM’s excellence awards under PMAY and PM SVANidhi (street vendor’s Atmnirbhar Nidhi) schemes of the central government in which Barwani has performed outstandingly in PMAY-Urban in the state.

Notably, 66 houses have been sanctioned by the collector for people who leprosy patients who have been living in Kushth Asram at Ashgram trust premises since 1980. And 29 families in the slum area Agariya Phaliya have also been granted PM houses.
