Amit Shah urges for double-engine government in Madhya Pradesh

BHOPAL / Blowing the poll bugle in Madhya Pradesh, Union Minister for Home Affairs Amit Shah on Friday urged the gathering to take a resolution for making again the Bhartiya Janta Pary government in the state. he also invoked the public to vote for the party in the upcoming state Assembly Elections, scheduled later this year.

Shah was addressing a convention, ‘Kol Mahakumbh’ organised in Satna of the state to mark the birth anniversary of Mata Sabri, who is considered an adored Goddess of the Kol tribal community. The community make up a sizable part of the electorate in the Vindhya region, where fall tribal-dominated districts Satna, Singrauli, Sidhi, Shahdol, Anuppur and Umaria.

Making a scathing attack on the main opposition Congress, Shah said that the Congress government used to spend only Rs 24,000 crore for the development of tribal communities but now, under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, this figure has gone up to Rs 89,000 crore.

“The Congress government has never given the post of the President from the tribal community in its 70 years tenure, whereas, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has made Draupadi Murmu ji as the President, who is the daughter of a poor tribal family”, Shah said.

He also said that earlier, there were 167 Eklavya Model Schools, their number has been increased to 690, and the amount of scholarships has increased from Rs 978 to 2,533.

He emphasised that the Kol community had a very significant contribution to the freedom movement, and the Modi-led government is setting up museums for their honour across the country.

Praising Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan-led BJP government for implementing various beneficiary schemes for tribal communities, Shah said that a double-engine govt– led by PM Modi in the centre and Chouhan-led in MP has been working for the tribals and brought prosperity to the state by introducing several welfare schemes.

The Union Cooperative Minister, Shah further reminded that during his visit to Jabalpur last year, the MP government had announced over a dozen tribal-centric schemes, and most of them have been implemented now. He counted PM Modi’s flagships, including PMAY, Ayushman Bharat Yojana, Ujjwala scheme and many more.

He appealed to the people of Kol communities to support the BJP in the coming Assembly elections. Shah laid the foundation stones of 70 development projects worth Rs 503 crore and inaugurated the works costing 26 crores. He also inaugurated a medical college built in Satna.

Addressing the rally, CM Chouhan listed his achievements and said that his government would fulfil its promise to provide Rs 1000 per month to women under the ‘Ladli Behena Yojana’.

Chouhan also said that under the leadership of PM Modi, India was becoming glorious, magnificent, prosperous, and corruption-free and is ending injustice.

Making several announcements for the Kol community, the CM said that the Kol fortress in Teonthar would be renovated and install a statue of Mata Sabri, where the culture, costumes, customs and history of the community would also be shown, adding that the sisters of the community would also be given a dietary grant of Rs 1,000 per month.

Along with this, arrangements for training and coaching would also be made for the students of the society for competitive exams preparation, PG tribal hostel and Kol tribal girl hostel would be set up in Rewa and Satna, respectively. The government would provide a guarantee for business loans to the youth of the Kol community, in the state, the PESA has been implemented to give rights to water, forest and land to the tribals, Chouhan also announced.

On this occasion, Union Ministers Virendra Kumar and Faggan Singh Kulaste, MP Ministers, Dr Narottam Mishra, Vijay Shah, Meena Singh and Om Prakash Sakhalecha were present. The MP Home Minister, Dr Narottam Mishra welcomed Shah at the helipad in Satna.
