Rebate in compounding fee for construction without permission extended till 30 June: Bhupendra Singh

BHOPAL / Urban Development and Housing Minister Bhupendra Singh on Monday said that a provision of 20 per cent special exemption in compounding fee was extended till 30 June and the limit of compounding for additional construction with building permission and construction without building permission was also increased from 10 to 30 per cent.

For mitigation of construction without building permission and excess construction against building permission, an online system operated for building permission through the Directorate of Urban Administration and Development, ABPAS (Automated Building Plan Approval System) facility is available for online mitigation of cases and receive fees online. Urban bodies have been instructed to resolve the cases of mitigation through online ABPAS only, the Urban development minister informed.

Urban bodies receive more than 144 crores in compounding fees so far

Urban bodies have so far received an amount of Rs 144 crore 47 lakh 58 thousand 318 as fee by taking action in 12 thousand 407 cases in the compounding of houses constructed without permission or in violation of the permission granted. Municipal Corporation Indore received 75 crores 54 lakh 3 thousand 528, Bhopal 23 crore 82 lakh 83 thousand 447, Gwalior 13 crore 41 lakh 8 thousand 467, Jabalpur 7 crore 95 lakh 3 thousand 241, Ratlam 3 crore 36 lakh 41 thousand 593, Chhindwara 2 crore 86 lakh 73 thousand 387, Ujjain 2 crore 71 lakh 83 thousand 790, Rewa 2 crore 14 lakh 69 thousand 730, Dewas 1 crore 29 lakh 7 thousand 667, Satna 1 crore 17 lakh 54 thousand 606, Katni 91 lakh 54 thousand 967, Singrauli 83 lakh 97 thousand 362, Sagar 82 lakh 89 thousand 520, Burhanpur 72 lakh 50 thousand 129, Khandwa 67 lakh 50 thousand 591 and Municipal Corporation Morena received 47 lakh 27 thousand 772 rupees as compounding charges. Other urban bodies have received a total compounding fee of Rs 5 crore 72 lakh 58 thousand 520.
