MP Revenue Department gets Skoch Award-2022 for ‘Samjhauta Se Samadhan’ campaign
BHOPAL / Innovation ‘Samjhauta Se Samadhan(SSS)’, a campaign to make villages dispute-free and bring harmony among villagers, introduced by the Revenue Department of Madhya Pradesh in Gwalior and Chambal divisions, has got the prestigious Skoch Award-2022.
The award was announced on Friday evening in the silver category for the year 2022 in which the Revenue Department of Madhya Pradesh was honoured for taking an innovation of the SSS to make villages dispute free and bring harmony in the rural people of all eight districts fall in the Gwalior and Chambal divisions of the state.
The Skoch Award is the highest and national honour in the country and given by an independent organisation, it felicitates both government and private sectors for performing excellently in their respective fields.
The initiative is a joint effort of the administration, revenue department, police, and judiciary as a way to get rid of small disputes among the villagers.
The idea of bringing harmony among the villagers of the state has recently been fetched by chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan. He has hailed the initiative. Revenue Minister Govind Singh Rajput has virtually taken part in the camps organised to dispose of the cases under the SSS campaign.
“Considering the CM’s desire, we had launched this innovative idea on the basis of the Indian concept of ‘Panch Parmeshwar’ to make the villages dispute-free and create a harmonious atmosphere among the people of the rural areas”, Ashish Saxena who retired last month from the post of commissioner of Gwalior-Chambal divisions and led the campaign told The Sun Today.
Saxena gave credit for this honour to ADGs of both the ranges, all eight collectors and SPs of both divisions and especially expressed regard to the administrative judge of MP High Court Gwalior bench, Justice Rohit Arya who transferred 4022 cases to the campaign.
The Gwalior bench of HC has carried forward the campaign with the help of the state legal services authority and camps have been organised in its jurisdiction.
“Bringing harmony among the villagers and becoming villages ideal are the main aims behind the initiative. Besides, it is also an effort as a measure to reduce the work pressure on administration, police and judiciary,” Saxena said.
More than 7093 such cases have been disposed of so far and around 50 villages made dispute free in both divisions.
Quarrelling over trivial matters is a common phenomenon in the Chambal region, these small disputes over agricultural fields, barns, homes, and courtyards sometimes become a prestige issue among the villagers and turn into big criminal cases. Some matters have even now been going on in the civil and judicial courts for many generations.
