Madhya Pradesh extends ban on Interstate Bus Services till 15 June
BHOPAL / Taking precautionary measures to flatten the curve of the infection of the Covid-19 pandemic, the Madhya Pradesh government once again extended the ban on the movement of the passenger buses to and from its bordering states, Chhattisgarh, Maharashtra, Rajasthan, and Uttar Pradesh, it will implement till 15 June.
Additional Transport Commissioner Enforcement (ACTE), Arvind Saxena has on Monday issued the orders of suspending the interstate bus services. The state’s headquarters of the transport department is in Gwalior.
In the orders, it is stated that to contain the spread of novel Coronavirus, the suspension of the movement of the passenger buses between the MP and its neighboring states is necessary for the public interest. The department has instructed divisional deputy transport commissioners and the district transport officers to ensure the restriction on the movement of the passenger buses on the state borders.
“In view of the curb of Covid-19 pandemic in the state, the suspension of the interstate, and all India tourist permits have been extended once again, it will be continued till 15 June. Due to this effect, the movement of the passenger buses will be banned from and to the neighboring states”, the ATCE, Saxena told The Sun Today.
The Transport department has played a crucial as delivering the Liquid Medical Oxygen at the hospitals where the Covid-19 patients were gasping for breaths during the treatment when the peak of the second wave of the pandemic hit the state.
The ban on the movement of passenger buses has been continuing since 29 April, apart from this, the transport department has earlier on 21 march banned the movement of the passenger buses between MP and Maharashtra that was the worst-hit state of the devastating second wave of the pandemic.
