Nurse Recruitment Scam: AJJAKS Submits Memorandum to Commissioner Demanding Action Against GRMC Dean under SC/ST Prevention and Atrocity Act

BHOPAL / Gwalior unit of Madhya Pradesh Anusoochit Jati-Janjati Adhikari Karmchari Sangh(AJJAKS) led by the district president Mukesh Morya has submitted a memorandum to the divisional commissioner Gwalior demanding action against Gajra Raja Medical College(GRMC) dean under the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes Prevention and Atrocity Act.

AJJAKS has also sought a high-level and fair inquiry in the matter in which appointments of the candidates have been made in stark defiance of reserved categories norms. The Sangh has also demanded the removal of GRMC dean Dr Sameer Gupta from the post who is allegedly involved in a massive recruitment scam of staff nurses.

Around 278 staff nurses have been recruited in GRMC Gwalior through an exam conducted by MP Online. The medical college has given appointments to the applicants while ignoring the rules and regulations made for reserved categories by the general administration department and the guidelines of the MP high court. The matter came to light in the internal audit of the medical education (ME) department.

“The appointments have been done by the GRMC dean without following the rules and regulations made for SC and ST categories by the GAD of state government”, Choudhary Mukesh Morya told The Sun Today. “The guidelines issued for making a merit list by the honourable High Court have also been ignored. The reservation roster has not been followed”, Morya said. He accused the dean of not inviting the nominee of AJJAKS for maintaining the reservation roster while recruiting the candidates as per the GAD circular.

According to sources, the appointment orders of staff nurses, paramedical staff, and scientists, have been released without taking the signatures of all the members of recruitment and scrutinizing committees. In the paramedical staff recruitment, the order has been issued in haste without taking the signature of the commissioner’s nominee.
