No Delay in Examination Results and Degree Distribution to be tolerated: Governor Patel

BHOPAL / Warning the Vice-Chancellors (VCs), Madhya Pradesh Governor Mangubhai Patel has said that any kind of negligence and delay in any work in the interest of students will not be tolerated and strict action will be taken against the responsible.

Patel gave this instruction while discussing with the VCs of 10 universities of the state at the Raj Bhawan in Bhopal on Thursday.

Governor said that the spirit with which the work is done makes its results effective. Work should be done thinking about how I would have felt if it had happened with me, this feeling brings sensitivity to the work.

On the occasion, the VCs of 10 universities were present. They were from Devi Ahilya University Indore, Jiwaji University Gwalior, Rani Durgavati University Jabalpur, Barkatullah University Bhopal, Vikram University Ujjain Awadhesh Pratap Singh University Rewa, Chitrakoot Gramodaya Chitrakoot, Maharaja Chhatrasal University Chhatarpur, Maharishi Panini Sanskrit University Ujjain and Chhindwada University.

Patel also said if the sentiments of students, related to cases of delay in examination results and distribution of degrees and how the delay in pension case must affect us on our retirement, was kept in mind, there would never be any delay in such work.

He emphasized that the feeling towards the work of a person is very important. He added that the environment is a matter of the future of our children, If environmental protection is considered with this in mind, the seriousness of the subject will automatically be understood.

He also said that if the plantation would be done with public participation then the results would be much resoundingly. Giving examples, he said that if each school student is given the responsibility of caring for one plant each, then it will instill a sense of affinity in the child towards the plant.

He also added that the arrangements should mandatorily be made in the universities for their convocation ceremonies to be held on a pre-fixed date that should be on the basis of any important event related to a great personality associated with the particular university.

He directed the universities to remain active and conscious of cleanliness and the students studying in which should also be involved in the works of public awareness in rural areas. He said that it is the responsibility of the Vice Chancellors to ensure that all the Ordinances and Acts are effectively followed. Arrangements for expert consultation may also be made as needed in audit and accounting functions and to make financial control effective.

The focus should be on the quality of education and efforts should be made to fill the vacancies of the faculties at the earliest. He further added that special emphasis should be laid on the efforts of the University to provide employment to the students, Governor further added.
