New Laws Strengthen Judiciary and Democracy: MP Chief Minister Yadav
Inaugurates Rewa district court complex alongside Supreme Court judges
BHOPAL/ Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav on Sunday said that recent legislative reforms have enriched India’s judicial system and strengthened the foundation of its democracy. He was speaking at the inauguration of the newly built district court complex in Rewa, a historic step in expanding judicial access in the Vindhya region.
“Justice is the legal right of every citizen, and ensuring its timely and fair delivery is the single most important objective of our judicial system,” CM Yadav said. “The new laws introduced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s government have made the judicial system more efficient, transparent, and responsive to the needs of the common man.”
The Chief Minister said the state government is working relentlessly to ensure easy access to justice for all. Recalling Rewa’s historic role as a judicial center since princely times, he called the new court complex the beginning of a new era. “This temple of justice will stand as a symbol of trust and empowerment for every litigant who walks through its doors.”
The modern complex features 40 courtrooms and seating for over 750 advocates. It is part of a state-wide initiative that has seen over 30 new court buildings inaugurated in the past two years.
Supreme Court Justice Surya Kant praised the Madhya Pradesh government’s proactive role in judicial infrastructure development. “This new facility will cater to the region’s judicial needs for the next five decades,” he said.
Justice J.K. Maheshwari highlighted the blend of traditional Bagheli architecture with modern functionality and said the true soul of the building would come alive through justice delivered with compassion, wisdom, and fairness.
Justice Satish Chandra Sharma reflected on Rewa’s rich legal legacy, mentioning former Chief Justices G.P. Singh and J.S. Verma, who hailed from the region.
Madhya Pradesh High Court Chief Justice Suresh Kumar Kait underlined the need to appoint 32 additional judges to clear pending cases and strengthen the judiciary.
Deputy Chief Minister Rajendra Shukla hailed the project as a milestone for the fast-developing Vindhya region, noting progress in law, infrastructure, power generation, and connectivity.
The event saw participation from High Court judges, legal dignitaries, officials, and public representatives.
